The Turkish shipyard YÜTEK has signed a contract with the Tanzanian Ministry of Transport for two general cargo, one passenger and one wagon ferry. The cost of the project was reportedly MUSD 180.
Artı Mühendislik and YÜTEK will design the ships and build them under the Contract. Three ships will be built in Tanzania and one general cargo ship will be built in Turkey.
Tanzania’s first female President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Turkey’s Ambassador to Dar es Salaam, Dr. Mehmet Güllüoğlu, as well as many other guests, attended the project’s signing ceremony.
Four ships to be built at the Tanzania Ministry of Transport and Communications is reported to worth MUSD 180 and will be utilized in Tanganyika Lake and Lake Victoria.
