The world’s biggest container vessel of 24 thousand TEU, built in Chinese shipyards, has been delivered with a ceremony that took place in Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding which is a subsidiary of the Chinese Federal Shipbuilding Company. The independent intellectual property rights being owned by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Company, the vessel will be classified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and serve in the route extending from the Fast East to Europe.
Being 399 thousand 99 meters long, the vessel is more than 60 meters longer than the world’s currently biggest aircraft carrier. The vessel is 61.5 meters wide, with a deck area reaching 24 thousand squaremeters. Able to carry 240 thousand tons of cargo, the vessel can be loaded with more than 24 thousand standard containers at once. The vessel is currently characterized as the world’s biggest container vessel.
