The first cruise to arrive in Turkey after 16 months anchored at Kuşadası Ege Port.
450 passengers, mostly Russian citizens, aboard the Bahamian-flagged “Blue Sapphire” were welcomed by the folk-dance team.
Global Ports Holding Eastern Mediterranean Regional Director and Ege Port Kuşadası General Manager Aziz Gungor said that this was the first cruise arriving in Turkey after 16 months due to the pandemic.
Expressing that they were very excited, Gungor stated that the operation of the cruiser by a Turkish operator was also important for Turkey.
Stating that the vessel that cruised from Antalya came here from Egypt, Gungor continued his words as follows: “The last time a cruise came to our country was on March 13, 16 months ago, to Kuşadası Port. Since then, this has been the first one to cruise to our country with passengers from abroad.”
