Gökmen Azaklı, Planning Manager at Asyaport Liman, announced that last year operations were performed on 1092 container vessels at the port as part of which 1 million 800 thousand TEU’s were handled.
According to what Azaklı has said, of the 1092 container vessels that were operated on at the port in 2021, 174 had a length of 300 meters or more and the port has been operating with a capacity which increases every year.
Saying that in 2020 Asyaport was visited by 128 giant container vessels, Azaklı emphasized that in 2021 an increase of 36 percent has been achieved in that regard.
Stating that the port continues to make capacity investments, Azaklı said, ‘‘Our expansion project will develop the dock to a length of about one thousand 400 meters which in turn will allow us to operate simultaneously on 3 vessels of 400 meters length”.
