Aydın Erdemir, the Chairman of the Turkish Port Operators Association, stated that they expected this year to close with 5% growth compared to last year.
Erdemir noted that this year has been a year of recovery with a high rate of development, although there has been a decline in liquid cargoes at ports, especially due to the decrease in global oil demand, since March last year, when the epidemic conditions were effective. Besides, Erdemir pointed out that this recovery prepared a suitable ground for the growth figures to be balanced again in 2022.
Erdemir said, “In 2022, we expect cargo, with an increase of 5%, over 540 million tons.”
