Accomar is actually the name of a union of Turkish companies specialized in their lines of business. First, let’s talk about the companies that formed Accomar… Which companies are in this consortium and what are their specialty of expertise?
Accomar is the formation of a consortium of three leading companies in the maritime sector. Based on an idea that emerged in 2015, Accomar was actualized in 2017 after nearly two years of preparation. Accomar draws its strength from the synergies shown up from the cooperation of companies: Oceanist Engineering in marine technical equipment, Çita Marine in marine furniture and architecture and Ünoks Industrial Stainless- Steel Products in marine galley / laundry.
How was the idea of Accomar born and actualized?
Çita, Ünoks and Oceanist had been actively involved as different suppliers in the same projects for nearly 10 years. They had been acting as part of the team that prepares the project for delivery to the customer. When work has done together for a long time, friendship develops as well as network is shared besides trade. So, these three companies wanted to put this partnership into practice and ACCOMAR was born. As of 2019, Accomar acquires legal personality and continues its commercial life as Accomar Interior Architecture Incorporated Company.
In which lines of bussiness does Accomar serve? Can it be said that this coalition has created a synergy which goes beyond the specialties of the components?
We work with the concept of turnkey outfitting of the marine accommodation areas of the vessels. We prepare the interior design of accommodation areas in accordance with the demands and expectations of our customers under favour of our expert architects. We start with the insulation work of the blocks of the accommodation, which steel works are completed, and we complete the project by laying the bed linens in the crew or passenger cabins.
What are the main criteria for this coalition? Is it just a project-based partnership?
The consortium of Accomar is essentially a project partnership. Companies continue to carry out the project separately in their respective lines of business. However, Accomar, competing in foreign markets as a single power today, is the only brand from Turkey who can bid for cruise companies.
What are the advantages of gathering under the roof of Accomar in recent process?
Our companies gathered under the roof and coordination of Accomar, not only increased their domestic market share, but also had opportunity to provide material and services to valuable projects abroad with the synergy arising from this partnership.

We can provide our services from tugboat projects which have smaller accommodation areas, to cruise vessel projects which have quite large accommodation areas.
What kind of business process works for the projects you will carry out?
We start with the engineering and design process. After receiving the approval of the engineering solutions and designs that we generated according to the customer demands and requirements, we continue with the production and product supply processes. After supplying all products related to the project, we carry out installation work on board with our expert and experienced team and we ensure that the project is delivered to the customer completely and on time.
Accomar already consists of companies that have a say in their lines of business. In this sense, can it be said that the main goal of this consortium is foreign markets and to export? Can you give a rate for the projects carried out in domestic market and foreign markets?
While the short-term targets, set by Accomar in the process of establishment, are to increase the experience and portfolio in domestic projects, the medium-term targets are to reach higher rate of exports. Export of products, design, engineering and workmanship are Accomar’s primary goals now.
You as Accomar will take your place in Europort Rotterdam. How is the approach for Accomar and represented understanding in the international market?
We as Accomar believe that participating in sectoral exhibitions as an exhibitor or visitor (without hiring a booth) is very important for promotional component and it is the the first gateway to concrete business contracts.
We determine the exhibitions to be participated from a wide range of options by identifying niche exhibitions that focus on our field of activity (vessel interior outfitting) as well as measuring the interest of global players in the industry. Recognition of Accomar brand has increased in the international market and Accomar has become a valuable solution partner for specific projects. Accomor is now listed as an approved supplier in the makers lists which is enclosed to the technical specifications by the international ship design companies.
What are the future targets of Accomar?
Accomar gains necessary experiences to become a company capable of outfitting marine accommodation areas of large-scale cruise vessels and invests in labor and technology. More employment and export are our primary goals.
