Kuzey Star Shipyard located in Tuzla, İstanbul, keeled laying the floating dock it has built for the nuclear-powered icebreakers of Atomflot, the vessel operator having an affiliation with the Russian Rosatom.
The keel of the floating dock built for Project 22220 universal nuclear-powered icebreakers was keeled laying with a ceremony. The ceremony that took place in the facilities of Kuzey Star Shipyard in Tuzla, İstanbul was attended by the representatives of Atomflot FSUE operating under the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom.
Atomflot General Manager Mustafa Kaşka said, “The building of the floating deck is running to the schedule. The professional competence of Turkish shipbuilders is unquestionable. Strict adherence to the building schedule is vitally important for us. The floating deck is an essential element of the coast infrastructure for the maintenance of Project 22220 nuclear-powered icebreakers”.
