Sefine Shipyard, situated in Yalova, started building the icebreaker class vessel designed for the Russian Rosmorrechflot.
The first steel was cut for the icebreaker vessel to be built within the framework of the agreement reached in August between Sefine Shipyard and the Russian Federal Agency of Maritime and Inland Waters Transportation affiliated to the Russian Coastal Safety (Rosmorrechflot).
The vessel to be built as part of the project to which a build number of NB58 has been assigned will operate as an icebreaker supply vessel. Having a length of 118 meters and a beam of 26 meters, the vessel will be engaged in operations including rescuing, towing and petroleum cleaning.
Being a multipurpose rescue vessel, the vessel will be equipped with 4 machines generating 6680 kWe power as well as a 900 kWe generator set and two fixed azimuth propellers of 9 MW.
