Sanmar, a leading Turkish tugboat manufacturer, has signed a contract with PORT FLOT – BURGAS, a reputable Bulgarian tugboat operator, to build a new tugboat. The tugboat, which will serve in Burgas Bay, is based on the RAmparts 2400SX-MKII design developed by Sanmar in cooperation with Robert Allan Ltd.

PORT FLOT – BURGAS has been operating in the Port of Burgas for over 35 years. Providing 24/7 service throughout the year with five tugboats, the company contributes to the safety of important facilities such as shipyards, oil port, Port Bulgaria West, BMF Port Burgas, KRZ Port and Nessebar passenger port in Burgas Bay.
BOĞAÇAY LXXXI: Strong Performance, High Efficiency
The BOĞAÇAY LXXXI, which is to be built by Sanmar, will have the following specifications: length 24.4 metres, width 12 metres, depth 4.5 metres. With 70 tonnes of towing power and a cruising speed of 12 knots, it will offer maximum efficiency in towage operations. Its wide hull, powerful engines and large double Z-propeller propulsion system will provide high manoeuvrability and superior performance.
The tugboat will be equipped with two main engines that comply with IMO Tier III emission standards, enhancing operational efficiency through advanced machine automation. It will also have a fuel oil capacity of 77,900 litres, 11,500 litres of drinking water and 7,700 litres of foam.
Sanmar plans to deliver BOĞAÇAY LXXXI in August 2025.
