Turkey’s leading towboat builder Sanmar reached agreement with the Australian Mackenzie Marine and Towage Pty Ltd for the sale of the upgraded unit of the best selling RAmparts 2400SX (Boğaçay) towboat series.
Built upon the RAmparts 2400SX MKII design specially created for Sanmar by the world-famous Canadian marine architects Robert Allan Ltd, ASD towboat is the modernized and updated version of Sanmar’s flagship Bogacay RAmparts 2400SX Class .
Equipped with two Caterpillar CAT 3516C main engines, sized 24,4 m x 12 m x 5,45 m, each reaching up to 2100kW in 1,600 rpm and driving US255 FP 2,6m propellers, the towboat offers an impressive bollard pull of 70 tons.
Named as Boğaçay LI during the building process, the towboat is scheduled for delivery in the last quarter of 2022.
