SAAM Towage, which started a new service at Callao Port where is located in 12 kilometers distance from to the Lima, the capital city of Peru, added the towboat named Albatross to its fleet to be used in its operations there.
The towboat named Albatross in 24.4 meters x 11.25 meters measurement was fitted with a twin 2100 kW main engine. The towboat which offers high performance has 70 tons of bollard pull. The towboat, which is able to reach a speed of approximately 13 knots, will play an active role in possible fire operations with its fire extinguishing pump that provides 2700 cubic meters of propulsion per hour. Albatross, one of Sanmar’s Bogacay class towboats, has a strong advantage at sea and superior maneuverability.
