The Nigerian Navy and Dearsan have agreed to sign the Nigerian Navy with two OPV76 Off-Shore Patrol Vessels. The two vessels are expected to be finished in 37 months, according to the deal.
In order to increase the effectiveness of the Nigerian Navy’s task force, the President of Nigeria has approved the supply of two Dearsan OPV76 Off-shore Patrol Vessels. Awwal Gambo described the procurement as a milestone in the Nigerian Navy’s 2021-2030 strategic plan. Gambo stated that these vessels could fulfill humanitarian aid missions in natural disasters as well as fight against piracy, smuggling and drug trafficking.
In the configuration of the vessel to be supplied to Nigeria, 40mm bow gun, ASELSAN STAMP 12.7mm RCSS, 12.7 and 25mm or 30mm RCSS attract the attention. The similarity of the radar at the top of the vessel with the ASELSAN MAR-D is remarkable.
