The Norse Group, which builds high-tech vessels for its Norwegian customers, has delivered the fish-farm support vessel Firda Welfare, built for Norwegian salmon producer Firda Seafood AS.

Norse Group, succeeding in the world’s first hydrogen-powered ferry project, has added another low-emission sea vessel project to its portfolio. The fish farm support vessel Firda Welfare, built by Norse for the Norwegian salmon producer Firda Seafood, was designed to serve as a hybrid.

It will be used to clean the parasites on salmon and has a battery capacity of 484kW. The ship will partially navigate and run on battery power and will continue to operate with minimal emissions.
