Turkey’s first Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle (SIDA) conducted firing tests in Antalya with the new ULAQ weapon systems as part of a joint project between ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defence Industries.
The Antalya-based ARES Shipyard, which carries on business with national capital in the military sector, and the Ankara-based Meteksan Defence Industries successfully completed fire tests after combining Turkey’s first and only SIDA, the ULAQ platform, with a 12.7 mm remote control weapon system.
ULAQ, which fired a missile from an unmanned marine vehicle for the first time in the world in 2021 and successfully destroyed the targets, will be used to safeguard bases and ports with a new remote control weapon system.
