Developing an Armed Unmanned Surface Vessel (AUSV) called ULAQ, Turkey has launched a project to develop the “underwater defensive warfare version.”
Turkey’s first Armed Unmanned Surface Vessel (AUSV), ULAQ, developed in cooperation with the Meteksan Savunma and ARES Shipyard, was introduced in 2020. Following the launch of SIDA in the first quarter of 2021, the second member of the ULAQ family was introduced. The second member of the family will carry out the underwater defensive warfare operations (DSH/ASW).
The ULAQ Underwater Defensive Warfare Unmanned Surface Vessel, developed with the operational concepts of the Turkish Naval Forces Command, will have useful loads of up to two light torpedoes, sonar, marine surveillance radar and electro-optical discovery/surveillance systems.
The ULAQ ASW Unmanned Marine Vehicle is expected to increase user awareness with its useful loads capable of detecting and destroying submarines.
