The two-sister ship, Georhiy Mescheryakov and Vladimir Biryukov will be among the world’s largest factory fishing vessels in terms of size.
Ships that will hunt Alaskan whiting in the Sea of Okhotsk and herring and mackerel in the Pacific will be able to do pelagic and semi-pelagic fishing with their 2 main cranes. If the conditions are met, the ships will be able to carry out uninterrupted fishing operations without a return to their port for as long as 11 months.
