ASFAT and YDA Group, a major player in Türkiye’s defence industry, are planning to construct a new shipyard on the Caspian Sea shore in Kazakhstan. This shipyard will be dedicated to the building of vessels for freight and cargo transport along the historic Silk Road trade route.
Target: Increasing the Efficiency of Trade
The shipyard is scheduled to commence operations in 2025-2026 and is projected to build seven large cargo vessels. The project aims to enhance trade efficiency in the Caspian Sea region and augment logistics capacity along the Silk Road.
A New Breath for Transport in the Region
Currently, transport services on the route are carried out only by Azerbaijani vessels. This initiative of ASFAT and YDA Group will diversify the transport sector in the region and strengthen commercial mobility on the Silk Road.
Strategic Cooperation
This large-scale project will deepen economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, and will be an important milestone for the sustainability and development of regional trade. This project, a joint initiative by ASFAT and YDA Group, two of Türkiye’s leading companies in the defence and building sectors, is set to mark the beginning of a new era in Caspian Sea trade, with the potential to enhance efficiency.
