Sonitus introduced its new unmanned underwater vessel RAMPUS. Sonitus Mühendislik introduced the new unmanned underwater vessel RAMPUS which has been designed for the duties of exploration and research.
The unmanned underwater vessel named RAMPUS has been developed for being used in underwater exploration and research operations. Formerly, the company had demonstrated in Saha Expo 2022 with NARVAL 1006 autonomous underwater glider that it has produced the first fruit of the work in this field. RAMPUS has proven to be a newer and more advance product in terms of capabilities and weight.
RAMPUS vessels can be used with a temporary slide system to be placed before performing a duty, without having a fixed slide on afterdeck. For purposes of underwater exploration, RAMPUS can be integrated with sonar and high resolution imaging systems. Before being sent off to duty, RAMPUS will be able to perform all operations within the defined route, by means of a controller within the range and autonomously down to a depth of 1000 meters outside the range.
According to the statement by Sonitus Mühendislik, RAMPUS has the following fields of duty:
Identification of underwater threats, such as mines, etc.
Intelligence-Surveillance-Exploration
Mapping and viewing seabeds
Pipeline and underwater building supervision
Oceanographic researches
Hydrographic researches,
Mapping debris fields,
Search and rescue operations
