Sefine Shipyard, one of Turkey’s well-established shipyards, desires to expand its successful projects in the field of shipbuilding in the Russian market.
Sefine Shipyard General Manager Süleyman Akın Tuzcuoğlu made statements to the press about the shipyard’s activities. Stating that the shipyard carries out activities in different branches such as repair/maintenance, new building, steel structure services; Tuzcuoğlu expressed that after the icebreaker project awarded in Russia, they wanted to grow in the Russian market.
Stating that they have been preparing for the Russian market for 2 years, Tuzcuoğlu continued his words as follows: “As a Turkish company, we received a tender from the Russian government. Hopefully, the doors of that market will open to us. We got our first tender. Our project is a 3-year icebreaker project. Our reference was strong when we got this tender. We presented the Nene Hatun vessel as a reference in this tender. Because Nene Hatun was a very featured vessel and when you have a good reference in a tender, you get plus points. When you do not have a reference, you are participating in the tender 20 percent behind and this is an indication of how valuable the reference is”.
