Italian Rimorchiatori, which previously purchased 5 tugboats from Sanmar Shipyard at different times, again chose Sanmar for the fleet renewal project in th”e Augusta Port operations. Sanmar Shipyard and the Italian tugboat operator have signed contracts for 2 green tugboats.
Tugboats to be built under the contract will be built in accordance with IMO Tier III emission standards. The tugboats, each with a bollard pull of 60 tons, will be the length of 24.4 meters and the width of 12 meters.
The tugboats will be equipped with two main engines of the Caterpillar CAT 3512E C class and will reach a top speed of 12.5 knots.
Tugboats designed to serve in firefighting operations will have 11,500 liters of freshwater tanks and 2,700 m³ of propulsion equipment per hour.
