The MED-A3055-ICE-SUPER class Sulina 2 towboat was built by Med Marine’s engineers at Eregli Shipyard specifically for AFDJ’s operational requirements in the Danube River. The towboat in 30 meters measurement, has IMO Tier III regulations and BV Ice Class 1A Super notation.
The towboat was equipped with Schottel SRP460FP fixed propeller ASD units, THR Marine aft and fore winches and two Caterpillar 3512C diesel Tier III main engines, each delivering 1,902 kW.
Sulina 2, built by Med Marine Turkey, will patrol the Danube between Braila (km 175) and Sulina Bar, and will carry out duties to increase the safety and security of marine traffic.
