Japan will not charge a port entrance fee for LNG or hydrogen-fueled vessels as of April 1.
Japan’s ports of Tokyo, Yokohama, and Kawasaki will not charge a port entrance fee for LNG or hydrogen-fueled vessels as of April 1.
The practice valid for vessels LNG or hydrogen-fueled will be valid for 5 years.
The port entrance fee for currently navigating vessels in the ocean in Japan is 2.7 yen ($ 0.025) per gross ton and 1.35 yen per gross ton for coastal vessels.
Meanwhile, Japan has been one of the most investing countries in LNG refuelling infrastructure in recent years, and Japanese shipyards are still working on developing hydrogen-fueled vessel designs.
