Kuzey Star Shipyard held a steel cutting ceremony in Russia for the building of a floating dock for the nuclear icebreakers of the vessel operator Atomflot, a branch of Rosatom. The steel cutting ceremony for the building of the floating dock was attended by officials of Atomflot, the Russian Maritime Registry (RMRS) and the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB) and officials of Kuzey Star Shipyard
The dock, which is planned to be completed in 29 months by Kuzey Star Shipyard, will be located in Murmansk Port. Planned to serve with a carrying capacity of about 30 thousand tons and a crew of 30 people, the floating dock will accompany icebreakers that perform crude hydrocarbon transportation in the Arctic throughout the year.
