Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, in his speech at the 12th Transport and Communications Council organized by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure to be discussed about transportation and communication systems of the future drew attention to the fact that the planning of Kanal Istanbul has become compulsory under current conditions.
Indicating that maritime transport played an essential role for sustainable economic development and in easy circumstances with its low cost and efficiency, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said that they recorded revolutionary developments in the field of maritime based on this reality of Turkey, which was a peninsula surrounded on three sides by the sea.
Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that thanks to Kanal Istanbul, which would bring a new breath to the world maritime transportation, the door of a new era had been slightly opened in the transportation and maritime sector.
