Cemre Shipyard built and delivered the world’s largest live fish carrier, Seigrunn.
The world’s largest live fish carrier, Seigrunn, built by Cemre Shipyard, was delivered to Seistar.
The vessel has been designed to meet the increasing treatment and carrier demands of existing and future customers, especially for salmon migrating to Western Norwegian waters.
The NB77 Seigrunn will keep energy use to a minimum and incorporates innovative solutions such as batteries and cylindrical fish tanks for energy storage.
Technical Specifications
Designed for Seistar in cooperation with Salt Ship Design to meet the increasing demand for salmon carrier in Norway, Seigrunn, with the capacity of 8 thousand cubic meters and 12 thousand tons has cylindrical fish tanks specially developed to prevent damage to the fish. In addition, Seigrunn, a length overall of 110 meters, with its battery combination propulsion system and its hygiene, environmental compatibility and quality features, will set a new standard for efficiency in fish carrier.
The vessel will be built by Norwegian design firm Salt Ship Design according to DNV GL class rules and will show the Norwegian flag.
