Beşiktaş Shipyard, owned by Beşiktaş Group, continues its investments in the shipyard and shipping industry around the world, in a period when global supply chains continue to tighten. The consortium of the company made an offer to buy R-Naval, the owner of Pipapav Shipyard in India. With the withdrawal of Russian competitors in the tender, the chance of the consortium increased even more.
A consortium consisting of Dubai-based GMS and Turkey-based Beşiktaş Shipyard has submitted its final bids to acquire R-Naval owned by Anıl Ambani Group, owner of Pipavav shipyard in Gujarat, India.
Russian United Shipbuilding Corporation, one of the toughest competitors up to the declaration of intent process, backed out during the final bid and thus the consortium including Beşiktaş Shipyard belonging to Beşiktaş Group, which continues its investments with the aim of becoming a regional leader in maintenance and repair activities, became one step closer to buying the Indian shipyard. The rivals of the consortium during the bidding process will be Indian companies APM Terminals and Naveen Jindal Group.
