Piri Reis University which made with higher education and research institutions abroad, “within the scope of cooperation produced a result” was awarded the International Cooperation Award by the Higher Education Council for its participation in the establishment of Qatar Naval Military College.
Piri Reis University, founded by the Turkish Maritime Education Foundation and advancing swiftly to become a Turkish brand in world maritime education with support of the Chamber of Shipping, was deemed worthy of an award by the Higher Education Council due to its conducted international activities.
Piri Reis University, within the scope of its activities which was subject to award, signed a cooperation agreement with the Navy Forces Command of the Qatar Emirates in 2018. Academic education structure of Naval Military College which decided to be established by Qatar Armed Forces with cooperation agreement signed between the rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Oral Erdogan, and Commander of Qatar Emirates Naval Forces Radm Abdullah Bin Hassan Al Sulaiti, was established by Piri Reis University.
Thanks to this project, Piri Reis University has also provided a significant financial resource and obtained 22 million euros resource in the first five months of 2019 with its educational export which it realized.
Piri Reis University which is a full member of Association of International Maritime Universities, continues to take part in many international projects while also performing presidency of Black Sea Maritime Organizations Association.
