Advantage Tankers, a company where Chairman of the Board is Gülsün Nazlı Karamehmet Williams, daughter of Mehmet Emin Karamehmet who is the President of Çukurova Holding and the owner of Geden Line, is growing its fleet. The Geneva-based company has been negotiating with a Southern Korean shipyard for having three vessels built.
Tuğrul Tokgöz remarked that the Geneva-based company signed a Letter of Intent for the building of three 158.000 dwt vessels. According to the plans, the final contract will be signed when the technical discussions with the shipyard are over.
Advantage Tankers was the first Turkish company to enter the VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) market in the year 2019 when the market was going through one of its most profitable periods.
VLCC comprises the second largest segment in tanker market. With the last two vessels that were added to the fleet this year, the number of VLLC tankers in the company fleet became 6.
More than 20 vessels in the fleet
Founded in 2014 in the Republic of Marshall Islands, Advantage Tankers has its headquarters in Geneva. The company has an office in London as well. With the majority of shares held by Gülsün Nazlı Karamehmet Williams, the daughter of Mehmet Emin Karamehmet, the company has a fleet of more than 20 vessels including crude oil vessel, aframax, suezmax, VLCC, four DF VLCC’s and chemical product tanker.
